Dominik Wurth - 2013

Overview

Dominik Wurth grew up in a small rural village on the edge of the Black Forest in Germany. In his early twenties, he discovered the guitar and started playing and practicing the instrument. After some time and technical progress, Dominik needed a better guitar. So he started reading books about guitar making to get a deeper insight into the differences in quality and to be better prepared for purchasing the right guitar. After reading several books on the subject, the temptation to build a guitar himself overcame his desire to buy a new one, and Dominik Wurth began to build his first classical guitar. After a long study of the art of lutherie at the University of Stringed Instruments in Zwickau, he was awarded the title of “Master of the Plucked Instrument Maker’s Handicraft”.

This beautifully crafted guitar by German luthier Dominik Wurth features a cedar soundboard paired with Indian rosewood back and sides, creating a rich blend of warm trebles and deep basses, characteristic of its F/F# main resonance. As a pre-loved instrument, it remains in good condition, with a refreshed French polish adding to its luster. While it exhibits a very thin, superficial crack on the waist of the soundboard on the bass side, this minor flaw is merely aesthetic and does not affect the instrument's sound quality. This guitar combines exquisite craftsmanship and robust sound, making it a valuable piece for any musician looking to own a piece of exceptional musical artistry.

Dominik Wurth – 2013 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
