Overview

Dominique Field is one of the best guitar makers worldwide today. He builds guitars in the French guitar-making tradition with extraordinary artistry and a strong sound ideal. Due to the great demand, there is now a waiting period of 17 years for a guitar from Dominique Field. Especially current models are very rare to find and are played by leading international artists such as the 2018 Guitar Foundation of America competition winner Rafael Feuillatre.

This 2007 Dominique Field guitar, a testament to exquisite craftsmanship, has been played regularly yet remains in very good condition, a mark of its enduring quality. Free from cracks or repairs, it only shows light signs of use, which contribute to its character without detracting from its beauty. The back and sides are crafted from stunning Madagascar rosewood, while the finely scaled spruce top has naturally darkened over the years, acquiring a captivating honey-colored hue. This aging process not only enhances the guitar's visual appeal but also speaks to the rich history embedded within its strings.

In terms of sound, this guitar embodies the excellence expected from a high-quality instrument. It produces an expressive sound with rich, resonant basses and sweet, melodious trebles, a combination that offers a delightful auditory experience. The playability of this guitar is outstanding, matched by its impressive responsiveness, making it clear that it was created by one of the most renowned guitar makers in the world. The craftsmanship is exceptionally fine and meticulous, reflecting a keen attention to detail, while its aesthetics are understated yet elegant, appealing to those who appreciate subtlety in design. This Dominique Field guitar is more than just an instrument; it is a remarkable piece that promises to bring joy and inspiration to any aficionado, blending superb playability with a timeless, elegant appearance.

Dominique P Field – 2007 No. 180 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
