Ennio Giovanetti - 2021

Overview

Ennio Giovanetti has been building guitars since 1998 in his workshop in Sariano di Gropparello, near Piacenza (Italy). He studied guitar making in Milan with Enrico Bottelli, where he got to know many guitars by Antonio de Torres, Simplicio, Garcia, and many others. His guitars are built traditionally but are well recognizable by their elements. Behind the tie block, for example, a part of the bridge was excavated to optimize the angle of the strings and thus promote vibrations.

The 2021 Ennio Giovanetti guitar with a 65cm scale is an instrument that exudes simplicity and elegance. The dark and timeless Indian rosewood used in its construction is a testament to Ennio's exceptional taste in selecting high-quality materials for his instruments. The rosette of this guitar is a nod to the traditional Madrilenian design used by renowned guitar makers such as Santos Hernandez and Domingo Esteso in the 1920s. The contrast between the light inner mosaic and the dark outer circles is a stunning visual feature that adds to the guitar's charm and character. In addition to its striking appearance, this guitar has an exceptional sound quality that complements its aesthetic qualities. The sound is strong, open, and focused, making it ideal for various musical styles and genres. As a pre-loved instrument, this guitar has a well-glued crack next to the fingerboard on the bass side. It is stable and does not extend to the other side. This flaw in the instrument's condition does not affect its overall playability or sound quality. Besides that, the guitar has only superficial playing marks. Overall, the 2021 Ennio Giovanetti guitar is a stunning instrument that combines traditional design elements with modern construction techniques. Its simplicity and elegance make it a desirable choice for discerning guitarists who appreciate the beauty of a well-crafted instrument.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
