Friederike Linscheid - 2021 No. 51

Friederike Linscheid - 2021 No. 51

Overview

Inspired by her love of music and creative craft activities, Friederike Linscheid completed her apprenticeship as a guitar maker at the instrument-making school in Mittenwald/Germany. Since then, she has been working as a luthier in Berlin. Guitar building combines her interests: music, art, design, and scientific work in equal measure. The precise handcrafting of carefully selected woods is of central importance to her for the sound and appearance of her guitars, just as the profound knowledge of the acoustic qualities.

Friederike Linscheid's guitar, numbered 51, emerges from her workshop as a traditionally constructed marvel, designed to deliver unparalleled musical expression. The choice of a cedar top, complemented by spruce bracing inspired by Robert Bouchet, endows this instrument with a rich, full-bodied, and warm tone, distinguishing it in the realm of classical guitars. The incorporation of Indian rosewood sides, laminated with mahogany in a manner reminiscent of Daniel Friederich's craftsmanship, and reinforced with braces styled after Dominique Field, contributes to the guitar's robust character. This meticulous construction results in a guitar that not only produces an expressive sound but also showcases a wide spectrum of tonal colors, making it a treasure trove of musical possibilities. As a pre-loved instrument, this guitar is in excellent condition with superficial playing wears.

Beyond its sonic excellence, this guitar boasts outstanding playability and versatility, characteristics that make it a perfect match for the ambitious guitarist seeking to explore a broad range of musical styles and techniques. Friederike Linscheid's attention to detail in both the aesthetic and acoustic design of guitar number 51 has resulted in an instrument that is as delightful to play as it is to hear. Its ability to articulate a variety of musical expressions with clarity and depth ensures that it stands out as an ideal choice for performers and enthusiasts alike, offering a seamless blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern playability.

Friederike Linscheid – 2021 No. 51 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
