Friederike Linscheid - 2022 No. 53

Friederike Linscheid - 2022 No. 53

Overview

Inspired by her love of music and creative craft activities, Friederike Linscheid completed her apprenticeship as a guitar maker at the instrument-making school in Mittenwald/Germany. Since then, she has been working as a luthier in Berlin. Guitar building combines many of her interests: music, art, design, and scientific work in equal measure. The precise handcrafting of carefully selected woods is of central importance to her for the sound and appearance of her guitars, just as the profound knowledge of the acoustic qualities.

This guitar, number 53, comes directly from Friederike and is a traditionally built powerhouse. Due to its cedar top with Robert Bouchet-inspired spruce bracing, it produces a very interesting, full-bodied and warm tone. Moreover, just like Daniel Friederich guitars, the Indian rosewood sides are laminated with mahogany and reinforced with regularly arranged braces in the style of Dominique Field. As a result, Friederike Linscheid has created a guitar full of character, which not only sounds expressive, but also has a great variety of tonal colors to offer. Furthermore, its excellent playability and versatility make it an ideal guitar for any ambitious guitarist.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
