Friederike Linscheid - 2022 Spruce No. 55 64 cm

Friederike Linscheid - 2022 Spruce No. 55 64 cm

Overview

Inspired by her love of music and creative craft activities, Friederike Linscheid completed her apprenticeship as a guitar maker at the instrument-making school in Mittenwald/Germany. Since then, she has been working as a luthier in Berlin. Guitar building combines many of her interests: music, art, design, and scientific work in equal measure. The precise handcrafting of carefully selected woods is of central importance to her for the sound and appearance of her guitars, just as the profound knowledge of the acoustic qualities.

This guitar, number 55, comes directly from Friederike Linscheid's workshop and is a traditionally built incredible concert instrument. The openness, power, and richness of the sound are unbelievable. We do not know Friederike's secret, but her last guitars are just phenomenal. With its 64 cm scale, it just plays so easily, and the sound openness of this newborn is beyond all expectations. In a sense, Friederike really pushes the boundaries of what a traditionally built guitar can do in terms of projection, yet keeping a master quality of sound.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
