Overview
Overview
Fritz Ober was born in Rosenheim in 1955 and learned to play the guitar at an early age. He built his first instruments in the 70’s based on guitar building books. Later he trained with the instrument maker Helmut Buchsteiner and initially focused on the construction of lutes. According to his own statements, the skills he acquired were decisive for his approach to guitar making, which was inspired by old masters such as Antonio de Torres.
This 2019 Fritz Ober guitar is simply a realm of unparalleled craftsmanship. Carefully preserved in an impeccable state, it showcases a captivating CITES certified Brazilian rosewood back that adds to its aesthetics and overall tonal richness.
Harmoniously, the guitar exhibits a deep D# air resonance, attributed to its traditional seven fan bracing. A meticulous arrangement that brings forth an orchestra of sounds: from deep, elegant basses to trebles that resonate with a singing sweetness. Its rounded tone, coupled with an array of sound-colour possibilities, promises an exploration of musical landscapes that only a few instruments can genuinely deliver.
Playing it is nothing short of a delight. The balance it achieves between different tones, coupled with its remarkable ease of play, embodies the quintessential traits of Fritz Ober’s designs. Revered for creating some of the most exceptional German guitars in contemporary times, this particular piece holds even more sentimental value as it stands as one of the last guitars from Fritz's illustrious career.
Owning this guitar isn't just about having an instrument; it's about preserving a legacy of fine German craftsmanship.

Classical Guitars
The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.Look all products of the collection -
