Overview
Gerhard Oldiges started to build guitars at the end of the ’70s during his studies. After graduation, he started a two-year apprenticeship as a guitar maker. Afterward, he initially worked in a guitar repair workshop. He attended a guitar building workshop with José Romanillos, who became his friend, in 1988 and since 1996 Gerhard Oldiges has assisted several of the master’s workshops. He always focussed on the history of Spanish guitar building and thus one of his specialties is the replication of old Spanish master instruments by Antonio de Torres, Vicente Arias, Manuel Ramírez and others.
This beautiful guitar made in 2008 is in an excellent condition without any cracks and shows only slight traces of playing on the top. The soundboard is made of spruce wood and has a wonderful honey-colored appearance.
