Glenn D. Canin - 2015 Doubletop
Glenn D. Canin - 2015 Doubletop
Overview
Overview
What a beautiful guitar made by American luthier Glenn Canin. Instruments of this luthier are rare in Europe although they are excellent double tops. This cedar-top model bears the number 100, which represents a milestone in the life of a luthier. The particularity of this guitar is that the double top is entirely made of wood, without any composite materials. The middle layer is made of balsa wood, an extremely lightweight timber, which gives a beautiful intensity to the sound and keeps a traditional tone aesthetic.
This guitar is in very good condition with only a few superficial marks on the varnish. It is an instrument designed to fill concert halls and allows the guitarist to express himself freely. It has a raised fingerboard to facilitate the access to the higher registers, a sound port on the side for better sound perception, and the double top offers exceptional playing comfort for the right hand. The sound is very powerful yet colourful, incredibly sensitive to vibrato and changes in dynamics. It is therefore a very expressive and reliable guitar.
