Overview
Ignacio Fleta (1897-1977) is one of the most famous luthiers of the twentieth century. In addition of being a successful guitarmaker, he was a recognised bowed and ancient instruments luthier (violins, violas, cellos, vihuelas, and violas de gamba). After his death, his work was continued by his two sons Gabriel and Francisco Fleta and later by his grandson Gabriel Fleta Jr. The current waiting time for a new guitar is about 20 years. This guitar’s rosette is very specific of Fleta’s work and inspired by the famous late ninteenth century guitar makers. The innermost and outermost part of the guitar’s rosette consists of a herringbone pattern ring. In the middle of those two rings, the central mosaic is in the shape of blossoms. This instrument has a cedar top and Indian rosewood back and sides. It is equipped with Fustero machine heads. This guitar is a true rarity for guitar collectors and players. A hard-shell case is included.
