Overview
Ignacio Fleta lived from 1897 till 1977 and is one of the most famous luthiers worldwide. Not only did he build guitars, but also violins, violas, violoncellos, vihuelas, and violas da gamba. After his death, his two sons Gabriel and Francisco Fleta and his grandson Gabriel Fleta Jr. continued his work. Today Gabriel Fleta runs the workshop in Calle Farell 15. Today the waiting time for a new guitar is approximately 20 years. Fletas of the newer generation are very rare since only few customers sell their instruments after having waited for over 20 years. This guitar is an absolutely rare opportunity to buy one of these newer Fletas. The beautiful looking spruce top has only very minor playing or handling marks. A highlight is the rosette that is made of blueish shavings in combination with the traditional Fleta flower design - a special combination that, as far as we know, was solely used for this guitar. The innermost and outermost part of the guitar’s rosette consists of rings with herringbone pattern design. The bridge is also decorated with mosaic inlays, which are framed by mother of pearl inlays. The back and sides are made of very old Indian Rosewood. The basses are quite focused and clear while the trebles have a lot of sustain and sing with clarity. The tuners are made by Fustero. This guitar is a true rarity for guitar collectors and players. A Hiscox Pro II case is included.
