Overview
Ignaz Roider, who was a representative of the Munich School, was born in 1866 in Munich. He made an apprenticeship at the workshop of Michael Wach (Munich). After that time he worked in different workshop i.e. of Johann Haslwanter, Johann Hornsteiner (Passau) and Johann Jobst (Graz). After his time in Austria he returned to Munich where he worked again at the Haslwanter workshop, and finally he began to work at the Max Amberger workshop. In 1901 he bought the workshop of Xaver Thumhart and started to run his own company. This eight-string guitar was build around 1920. The top is made of spruce, back and sides are made of maple. The top has five repaired cracks - all stable. Back and sides are in very good condition - no cracks. The neck is screwed to the guitar’s body and is individually adjustable. A hardshell case is included.
