Jean-Noel Rohé - 2005
Overview
Overview
When we visited Jean-Noël Rohé in his workshop in Straßburg, which is only one hour by car away from Karlsruhe, he showed us this beautiful guitar that he made in 2005. It is now available in our showroom and we are very happy to offer you this magnificent instrument. Jean-Noël currently has a waiting list of eight years and builds 10 guitars each year. He studied lutherie in Great Britain at the Sherwood College in Newark with Tony Johnson and Roy Courtnall. In 2004 he was awarded with the title 'Un des Meilleur Ouvrier de France'. Jean-Noël stands in the tradition of French guitar makers like Daniel Friederich and Dominique Field. This guitar has a spruce top (with seven fan braces) and the back and sides are made of Indian Rosewood. The sound is very warm and deep (body resonance around G) and has very nice and clear trebles with much sustain. The top has some signs and was repolished recently. The tuning machines are made by Klaus Scheller. A Hiscox Pro II case is included.
