Johanna Vogl - 2024 Spruce

Overview

Johanna Vogl is a guitar maker from Berlin, Germany. She did her apprenticeship in the Musical Instrument Making School Mittenwald, where she learned the art of Spanish guitar making. Johanna then worked in the workshop of an established Berlin-based German guitar maker, Adrian Heinzelmann, where she built a lot of guitar parts, such as the back and sides, necks, bridges, and rosettes. Under the guidance of Adrian, Johanna got deep insights into modern concert classical guitar-making. Moreover, Johanna also learned how to analyze individual components using modern measuring technology and how to select and prepare them accordingly.

The 2024 Johanna Vogl guitar is a remarkable fusion of traditional Spanish craftsmanship and modern concert guitar innovation. Drawing from the legacy of Jose L. Romanillos, it incorporates timeless design elements with contemporary advancements. With a low body resonance around E, the spruce soundboard delivers resonant, deep basses and clear, balanced trebles, creating a harmonious tonal range that captivates both player and listener. Designed for versatility, its elevated fingerboard enhances playability and facilitates complex musical passages, while its excellent volume and projection ensure clarity in any performance setting. Aesthetically, the guitar features a minimalist yet elegant design, with understated details in the rosette and headstock that highlight its sophistication and craftsmanship. The clean lines and refined touches reflect Johanna Vogl’s dedication to both form and function. Balancing tradition with modernity, this guitar offers exceptional tonal quality, playability, and visual appeal, making it a true concert instrument for guitarists of any level.

Johanna Vogl 2024 Spruce Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
