Die Gitarren von José Ramirez III erlangten hauptsächlich durch Andrés Segovia und seine zahllosen Schüler, eine internationale Reputation - besonders ab 1965, als José Ramirez begann, ein neues Instrument zu entwickeln: mit einer Decke aus 'Western Red Cedar' und doppelter Zargenstärke, die durch eine Verleimung von Palisander und Zypresse zustande kam. Mit der Arbeit von José Ramirez III wurde die Zederndecke als zweites Material, neben der traditionellen Fichte, weltweit akzeptiert. Das vorliegende Instrument wurde 1971 gefertigt. Alles in allem ist diese Gitarre in einem hervorragenden Originalzustand das nur minimale Spielspuren aufweist. Die Decke ist aus feinster Zeder, Boden und Zargen sind aus CITES-zertifiziertem brasilianischem Palisander. Klanglich passt dieses Instrument genau in die Zeit der "goldenen Töne" des Andres Segovia: Sehr kräftig und klar mit viel Sustain. Es ist definitiv ein einzigartiges Instrument, das es in diesem sehr guten Originalzustand äußerst selten zu finden ist.
