Overview
José Romero Garrido was born in Baeza (Jaén) on April 12, 1954. As a child he moved with his family to Madrid, where he still lives today. Early on, at the age of 14, he began an apprenticeship at the workshop of José Ramirez III. At the age of 17, he became guitar maker assistant and with 18 he was already junior craftsman. After his military service he returned to work at Ramirez and went on to become a master craftsman. Another eight years José Romero Garrido worked for Ramirez until he finally opened his own workshop in 1983. This guitar is in very good condition. The top is made of the finest cedar, back and sides are made of cypress. The basses are very strong, dry and aggressive. The balance between bass and treble is excellent. An excellent guitar from the Ramirez workshop that is very interesting for players and collectors.
