Overview
Overview
Julián Gómez Ramírez was born in Madrid in 1879. At the early age of 13, he started working in Augustín Andrés’ workshop. In 1910, Julián entered the workshop of José Ramirez I where he worked for four years. He finally moved to Paris in 1914, where he became the first representative of the Spanish guitar-making in France. This new way of building guitars was particularly appreciated as the Spanish fan-braced guitars were richer and more powerful than the small-bodied romantic guitars, whose popularity had decreased a lot with the immense success of the piano in the Parisian salons. In 1938, Robert Bouchet visited Julián Gómez Ramírez’ workshop as a customer. Quickly, the two men became friends and J. G. Ramirez taught R. Bouchet the art of the lutherie, founding the pillars of the French twentieth century school of guitar making.
This superb guitar is in fantastic condition. It only has two superficial cracks, one under the bridge and one on the back. Both are perfectly stable. In addition, sublime woods have been chosen for the back and sides. This quality of Brazilian rosewood (Pre-CITES) is almost impossible to find nowadays. The original tuning machines are still on the guitar and work perfectly.
What a breath-taking sound. The elegance of its timbre and the delicacy of its touch are remarkable. Extremely sensitive trebles make this guitar sing in an absolutely charming way. At the height of its 100th anniversary, this instrument in great condition has a generous sound and is ready to be played.

Classical Guitars
The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.Look all products of the collection -
