Kevin Aram – 2018 4 Forty Series "Frankie"

Overview

Kevin Aram was born in 1949 and grew up in Clipstone in the UK. He started building guitars full-time in 1978 and built more than 300 guitars since then. He also had the chance to study and restore great XIXth and XXth century instruments built by Vicente Arias, Domingo Esteso, Santos Hernandez, Manuel Ramirez and José Luis Romanillos for example. Kevin Aram focuses on the construction of guitars in the Torres tradition since 1991. Julian Bream famously owned a 1980s Kevin Aram guitar and recorded his 1988 instrument on his CD: "Julian Bream – La Guitarra Romantica".

"Frankie" 4 Forty Series guitar. This rare piece, the first of four, celebrates the four-decade-long journey of Kevin Aram as a professional guitar maker. Accompanied by a signed, hand-written letter from Kevin, "Frankie" is a testament to his dedication and expertise in guitar making. • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
