Overview

Lucio Carbone is an Italian luthier based in Milan. He was born in 1959 and established himself as a guitar maker already in 1983. He started his workshop in Milan in 1989, at the age of 30, where he builds high quality, mostly traditional guitars in Via Carlo Goldoni 77.

Inspired by well-known German luthier, this instrument captivates with its deep and mysterious basses, perfectly balanced with brilliant, shimmering trebles. The balance achieved in this guitar is not just technical; it’s a harmony of sound that invites exploration and discovery. The richness in its tonal palette offers an array of amazing colors, providing musicians with a broad canvas for expressive musical interpretation. This guitar’s ability to capture such a diverse range of sounds makes it an invaluable tool for both performance and creative exploration.

Further enhancing its appeal is the guitar’s aesthetic beauty. The spruce soundboard has a charming color and is adorned with a beautiful grain that elevates the visual aspect of the instrument, adding a unique character and sophistication. These intricate details of the wood do not just contribute to the guitar’s stunning appearance; they also play a role in shaping the distinctive tonal qualities of the instrument. Lucio Carbone’s attention to both the visual and acoustic details make this guitar a work of art that resonates with beauty and excellence.

Lucio Antonio Carbone - 2024 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
