Overview

Manuel Ramirez (1864-1916) is certainly one of the most important luthiers of guitar history. In his Madrilenian workshop, Manuel Ramirez trained and inspired many now-legendary guitar makers such as Santos Hernandez, Enrique Garcia, Domingo Esteso, Modesto Borreguero, and many more.
This guitar made between 1903 and 1909 has several repaired and stable cracks on both the top and back and sides. A little 4x2cm piece of would has been replaced with a wood diamond at the upper bout of both sides. A longer crack on the back has been repaired with cleats. The guitar is perfectly stable in its current condition and is waiting to be played and loved yet again.

This charming Manuel Ramirez inspires the guitarist to explore the romantic Spanish music with its earthy and warm timbre. It has beautiful marquetry details with mother of pearl inlays in the rosette. Cypress paired with aged spruce is an outstanding combination that allures the guitarist to play in a lot of different styles and genres within the classical guitar.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
