Marco Gilioli is a very talented Italian luthier based near Milan, Italy. His instruments are built according to the traditional Spanish method, focusing on both the sound and the needs of the guitarist. A sweet, soft, and well-balanced tone, with deep basses and clear trebles, characterize his guitars. The playability and sound projection are also very important for Marco. As a result, his instruments are very charming, easy to play, and suitable for concert players as well as for afficionados of fine guitars.
Due to the large number of excellent luthiers exhibiting their instruments and the outstanding quality of the guitars presented at the Roma Guitar Expo, it is certainly a globally unique event in the area of classical guitars. Every year, carefully selected guitar makers are invited to present a special edition, a one- of-a-kind guitar that sets a very high benchmark in terms of woodworking, craftsmanship and sound.
Marco Gilioli's 2022 REG Limited Edition guitar is an impressively light and responsive guitar that has a deeply Spanish and Torres-like temperament. With its precious aesthetic and fascinating tone qualities, this is a true concert guitar with a captivating look and extremely limited availability.
A few words of Marco Gilioli about this very special 2022 REG Limited Edition:
"This guitar is the special model built for the Roma Expo Guitars 2022, and like all instruments of mine, it is inspired by the Spanish tradition and by the work of Antonio de Torres.
I used very special woods, like a master quality Swiss Spruce for the soundboard, a very beautiful set of Indian rosewood for the back and sides, and an impressive flamed Spanish Cedar for the neck.
This instrument is enriched with extra decorations on the rosette that match the soundboard purfling, which is also larger and more elegant on the back and sides."
