Overview

Marie Lequeux was born in Belgium in 1986 and has a general scientific and medical background. In 2010, she decided to change focus and went to Newark in England, to the Classical guitar making school, under the instruction of James Lister, Malachy Brady, and Adrian Lucas. She continued her studies in bowed instrument making, where she learned to make and restore violins, violas, and cellos. Moving back to France, she opened her workshop in the Doubs region in France, where she makes excellent concert guitars and bowed strings instruments.

A few words of Marie about her guitars:
"Over time, I have refined my visual and acoustic perception. I build each guitar one by one in order to work on them as a whole. I use traditional construction methods inspired by the great masters such as Fleta, Friederich, and Bouchet. The combination of the soundboard with the back and sides, according to the different densities, is carefully thought out. I also pay a lot of attention to aesthetic research in the marriage of colors or the composition of the rosettes.
My guitars are usually appreciated for their playing comfort, sustain, projection, and balance of registers."

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
