Overview
Stiff but light woods for the top are the main features all guitar builders hunt for. In 1989 Matthias Dammann built the first double top guitar by using two tops and putting honeycomb carbon layer in between. The reduction in weight led to an increase in volume. But even though there is less than 2 mm of real wood left, the wood is still the most important element of the guitar to keep the sweetness in sound. This Matthias Dammann model is a beautiful sounding guitar with a cedar double top and back and sides made of Madagascar rosewood. The guitar is very easy to play and a lot of fun. Very rare for a guitar of this price category is the shellac finish.
