Paul Hildebrandt - 2023

Paul Hildebrandt - 2023

Overview

Siccas Guitars is delighted to introduce one of the latest masterpieces from Paul Hildebrandt, meticulously crafted in his workshop in 2023. This impressive instrument stands as a testament to Hildebrandt’s deep reverence and appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, seamlessly blended with contemporary design and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques. The top, made from premium cedar, promises a warm and expressive tone, while the back and sides, fashioned from Indian rosewood, are not just admired for their stunning appearance but also for their capacity to enrich the guitar's sound. The classic top bracing with its seven compartments, two V-bars, and a bridge strip beautifully complements the neck, constructed in a traditional German manner and adjoined to the body via a dovetail joint. Of particular note is the three-layer construction of the sides, which guarantees maximum rigidity without unduly increasing the weight of the guitar. The sides consist of a thin outer layer, a layer of spruce, and an inner veneer. Additionally, the back bracing, inspired by Trevor Gore, is enhanced with added radial bars in the lower section, promoting a refined tuning of the back and an optimal coupling with the top.

In terms of design, Paul Hildebrandt pursues a vision of creating a modern yet understated aesthetic that seamlessly melds with the traditional forms of the guitar. A standout feature is his interpretation of the Friederich crown for the headstock, effortlessly fusing tradition with contemporary aesthetics. Hildebrandt’s guitars have already received acclaim at prestigious events such as the International Guitar Festival in Augsburg and the International Guitar Festival in Hersbruck. Both professional musicians and enthusiastic hobbyists highlighted the instrument's remarkable balance and sustain.

This guitar reflects the passion and expertise of a luthier who, since his recognition as the national champion of the German Craftsman Performance Competition in 2021, has been continually honing his mastery. Such an instrument of this caliber and beauty is a rare find, and at Siccas Guitars, we are proud to showcase it. A true delight for those who cherish exquisite sound.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
