Overview

Bernabé Sr. (* 2. Juli 1932 in Madrid; † 10. Mai 2007 Madrid) was one of the greatest and most renowned luthiers from Spain. Before he founded his first workshop in 1969, where he worked along with his son Paulino Jr. from the 1980s onwards, Paulino Sr. worked in José Ramirez III’s workshop in the 1950s and 1960s. Bernabe guitars are still played in major venues all around the world today. Thibaut Garcia for instance, the winner of the 2016 Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) competition, has been playing on a Bernabe for several years.
The Colección is a new beautiful, and unique model by Paulino Bernabé Jr. Only a handful of these limited-edition guitars will be built, using Paulino's best and rarest wood stock, combining his decades of experience and fantastic craftsmanship skills. Each of the guitars in the Colección series is unique, and we are delighted to present the number 4, built in 2022.

This fourth guitar of the Colección series features a stunning Bird’s Eye Maple back and sides, and, most surprisingly, neck. It is a real dream to look at! It recalls the distinguished violin-making school that utilizes maple as a neck, a sign of elegance and refinement. This very fine guitar features the maple wood's acoustic properties, giving airiness to the tonal character, and it plays very smoothly with an expressive and excellent volume. This guitar is considered as a rare and collectible item that will fulfill the demands of any musical ideas.
