Paulino Bernabé - 2022 Colección No. 3

Paulino Bernabé - 2022 Colección No. 3

Overview

Bernabé Sr. (* 2. Juli 1932 in Madrid; † 10. Mai 2007 Madrid) was one of the most renowned luthiers from Spain. Before he founded his first workshop in 1969, where he worked along with his son Paulino Jr. from the 1980s onwards, Paulino Sr. worked in José Ramirez III’s workshop in the 1950s and 1960s. Bernabé guitars are still played in major venues all around the world today. Thibaut Garcia for instance, the winner of the 2016 Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) competition, has been playing on a Bernabé for several years.

The Colección is a new beautiful, and unique model by Paulino Bernabé Jr. Only a handful of these limited-edition guitars will be built, using Paulino’s best and rarest wood stock, combining his decades of experience and fantastic craftsmanship skills. Each of the guitars in the Colección series is unique, and we are delighted to present the number 3, built in 2022.

This third guitar of the Colección series features a stunning Louro Preto back and sides with fabulous patterns. It is an absolute dream to look at and the dark, reddish cedar top not only gives this guitar an outstanding artful appearance, but also perfectly matches the warm and mysterious timbre of this fine instrument. As a modern Spanish guitar, it fulfils all the requirements of a fine concert instrument, such as a great sound volume and easy playability.
This instrument is a rare, one-of-a-kind masterpiece as well as a distinguished collectible that satisfies the needs of musicians of all levels and supports the expression of their musical ideas.

Paulino Bernabé 2022 Colección No. 3 Classical Guitar review
The Weekly Guitar Meeting #26 - Bernabé, Ramirez, Gonzalez Lopez - Siccas Guitars

While this one is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
