Rafal Turkowiak - 2025 Opus Prime No. 721 Doubletop

Rafal Turkowiak - 2025 Opus Prime No. 721 Doubletop

Overview

About the luthier

Rafal Turkowiak was born in 1966 in Golanice near Leszno, Poland. Coming from a family of craftsmen, with his father being a carpenter and his grandfather a wheelwright, he was introduced early to the world of woodwork and material knowledge. Over more than two decades of guitar making, he has developed a scientific and innovative approach to lutherie. This dedication to research and experimentation led him to create his distinctive “WAVE” structural concept, which enhances the guitar’s resonance and projection.

About the guitar

The Opus Prime No. 721 from 2025 represents a continuation of Turkowiak’s forward-looking vision. Following on from his renowned “Queen of Guitars” and earlier Opus Prime models, this instrument demonstrates his ongoing commitment to blending traditional craftsmanship with advanced acoustic engineering. The spruce soundboard works in combination with Bolivian rosewood back and sides to produce a voice that is both powerful and refined.

A defining feature of this model is Turkowiak’s “Acoustic Tube” integrated into the neck, which enriches the resonance and supports a full, enveloping sound. The trebles are sweet and lyrical, while the bass registers benefit greatly from the exceptionally low air resonance of D sharp to E. This results in impressive depth and sustain across the lower range and a strong fundamental presence throughout the registers. With a weight of only 1520 grams, the guitar remains highly responsive and dynamic.

Visually and ergonomically, the Opus Prime No. 721 embraces a modern aesthetic. Its sleek lacquer finish, carefully profiled neck, and comfortable dimensions reflect Turkowiak’s focus on player-oriented design. This guitar offers a remarkable blend of warmth and playability, making it a strong choice for demanding concert use.

Rafal Turkowiak 2025 Opus Prime No. 721 Classical Guitar Review

While this one is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
