Overview
During the first years Richard Jacob Weissgerger sold instruments to middlemen, which attached their own labels to the guitars. This Viennese model which was constructed in 1912 by Richard Jacob does also belong to these instruments. The penciled inscription on the crossbar above the sound hole has the serial number 13.3/6. The two-piece top is made of nut brown stained spruce wood. It is framed by pear wood bindings. The same arrangement of purflings can be found around the sound hole, beyond which the fingerboard protrudes. The bridge is decorated with tendrils and it is made of one piece. The two-piece back is vaulted and consists of strongly flamed maple just like the sides as well. Below the bridge there is a well repaired crack. Overall condition is very good for the age. The tuning machines are original.
