Overview
This is a 1944 Richard Jacob Weissgerber Simplicio with small body in almost perfect original condition. There are only some little signs on the top and the back. When Weissgerber got in contact with guitars made by Francisco Simplicio at the beginning of the 1930’s, he was very inspired by the craftsmanship and the high quality of Simplicio’s guitars. So he decided to develop a new guitar model that was inspired by the Spanish maker. This guitar has no cracks or repairs at all and the neck is absolutely straight. Back and sides are made of mahogany and the top is made of finest darkly stained spruce. The head plate is highly decorated on both sides and was carved by Paul Uhlemann (1906-1994). The back is channeled along the sides. Another feature is the holed fretboard at the 13th fret. The tuning machines are original.
