Die Werkstatt von Roy Fankhänel befindet sich in Oelsnitz, Deutschland, wo er Gitarren in deutscher Tradition baut. Er beweist ein sehr hohes Maß an Handwerkskunst, die sich in Merkmalen wie der Schwalbenschwanzverbindung, die Details der Rosette, das Design des Kopfes und die Qualität der Konstruktion als Ganzes erkennen lassen. Seine Gitarren sind kraftvolle Instrumente mit einem großzügigen, satten Klang. Sie sind sehr bequem zu spielen und haben ein leicht gerundetes und erhöhtes Griffbrett.
Diese Gitarre wurde von Antonio de Torres inspiriert und folgt der Idee einer modernen Interpretation der traditionellen spanischen Gitarre. Es handelt sich um ein Instrument mit einem feinen, farbenreichen Ton, das sehr sensibel auf den Anschlag reagiert und ein charmantes Timbre zum Ausdruck bringt. Dennoch erinnern uns einige Details daran, dass diese Gitarre ein zeitgenössisches Konzertinstrument ist, das Konzertsäle füllen kann und einige Elemente wie das erhöhte Griffbrett und der gewachste Hals wurden gebaut, um die Spielbarkeit zu optimieren. Für dieses Instrument wurde eine erstklassige Haselfichtendecke gewählt und es ist erstaunlich, wie klar und brillant diese neue Gitarre bereits klingt.
