Sergei de Jonge - Doubletop 2016
Sergei de Jonge - Doubletop 2016
Overview
Overview
It was in the late 60s when Sergei de Jonge learned how to build guitars as the first apprentice of Jean Claude Larrivée, the soon-to-be godfather of Canadian guitar builders. In 1972 de Jonge established his own workshop and henceforth built mainly classical guitars before starting to build steel string guitars again a few years later. He also started sharing his knowledge and skills with his daughter Joshia, who now runs her own workshop.
The back and sides of this de Jonge Double-Top guitar are built of beautiful Indian Rosewood. The top is made of very fine spruce that has very regular growth rings. Regarding the sound, we can say that it is very strong and extensive, while also warm and balanced. Due to the elevated fingerboard and the pleasing shape of the neck, playing this instrument is extremely comfortable and is a lot of fun. A Hiscox Pro II case is included.

Classical Guitar
The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.Look all products of the collection -
