Vladimir Druzhinin - 2021 64 cm

Overview

Vladimir Druzhinin was born in 1983 in Novosibirsk, Russia, in a scientist’s family. He graduated from high school with a major in mathematical physics in 2000 and successfully passed the entrance exams to Novosibirsk State University. Graduated with a Bachelor of Physics degree in 2004. Continued studies and graduated in 2006 with a master’s degree (specialization in accelerator physics). From 2000 to 2008 worked and was an intern at Budker Institute of Nuclear Physics. After this successful scientific career, Vladimir Druzhinin moved to Moscow as his passion for music took increasing importance in his life. He eventually switched to lutherie as his main occupation around 2010, as he apprenticed with the Russian luthier Timofey Tkach. Vladimir Druzhinin quickly became one of the most successful Russian luthiers, building elegant instrument showing a great influence of Spanish Masters as Antonio de Torres and Manuel Ramirez. His guitars are light and responsive, excellent on both acoustical and aesthetical levels.

What a beautiful guitar! This stunning instrument is the first one that we receive from Vladimir Druzhinin, and certainly not the last. With its beautiful spruce top, displaying an authentic honey colour, and its elegant Madagascar rosewood back and sides, it is both an eye-catcher and convincing design in the Spanish tradition. From the guitarist’s point of view, this guitar’s tone is incredibly quick and bouncy. The responsiveness of the soundboard and the overall energy that emanates from it are incredible. Moreover, with its well-proportionated neck and relatively lightweight, this guitar is a real pleasure to play.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
