Overview
Walter Vogt was born in 1935 in Mühlen am Neckar, Germany, and passed away in 1990. He was a very respected craftsman and a visionary luthier. Giving a lot of thought to improve the sound qualities of the classical guitar and its intonation, he built unique guitars with fascinating designs.
This particular instrument was built in 1981 and is numbered 340. It is the same model as Johan Smith's one as he won the 1st prize at the Guitar Foundation of America (GFA) in 2019. It features a larger oval soundhole, first-grade spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides, and a unique head design. Yet, this guitar shows two exclusive features: a very comfortable 64cm scale and an improved bridge with segmented bone. The sound is generous with plenty of sustain and gigantic basses. It is, in our opinion, an extraordinary instrument with exceptional value for money.
