Overview
Richard Jacob “Weißgerber” was one of the most creative, innovative, but certainly the most versatile guitar maker of the 20th century. Neither in Germany nor in the world has there been or is there any other master whose work, in its multiplicity, would be comparable to that of Richard Jacob. The variety of his models, their shapes and designs are unique. Undoubtedly, he is one of the great artists of his guild. “Weißgerber” guitars like the instruments of other major guitar builders have something special. The penciled inscription on the crossbar above the sound hole has the serial number 21.1/1.
This guitar which was constructed in 1921 by Richard Jacob. The two-piece top is made of nut-brown stained spruce wood. There are two well repaired cracks on the top. The overall condition is very good for the age of this guitar. Back and sides are made of birch wood. The finish and the tuning machines are original. The original case is included.
