Overview

Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been building guitars since he was fourteen. Born in Dortmund in 1951 as the son of a guitar builder, he grew up with guitars from an early age and over the years developed a great passion and expertise for this instrument. For several years now, Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been living and working in China, where he builds handmade guitars of astonishing quality in a small factory.

This guitar is based on one by René Lacôte, one of the most significant French guitar builders of the 19th century. This replica has been combined with modern elements, such as the modern headstock and the rosette. The fretboard is also wider than that of a romantic guitar, making the guitar easy to play. The top is made of the finest spruce, while the back and sides are crafted from beautifully figured maple. The guitar is refined with a shellac finish, giving it an elegant appearance. The tuners are also of high quality and ball-bearing, ensuring precise and smooth tuning. The guitar has a beautiful romantic sound, which is warm and resonant. It's also perfectly suited for chamber music. Here are the advantages of this guitar summarized:
– Magnificent antique look
– Balanced sound
– Ideal for chamber music
– Shellac finish
– Easy to play.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
