Aurora Orsini: Rising Star of Classical Guitar
Aurora Orsini, born in 1997 in Italy, has quickly gained recognition as a distinguished classical guitarist. Known for her exceptional performances as a soloist, Aurora has captivated audiences in Italy, Hungary, Spain, and England, demonstrating her versatility and mastery of the instrument.
Academic Excellence and Prestigious Collaborations
In 2023, Aurora earned a postgraduate master’s degree in Classical Guitar Interpretation from the University of Alicante in Spain, with support from a Guitarras Alhambra scholarship. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work with world-renowned guitarists such as David Russell, Manuel Barrueco, Pablo Márquez, Xavier Diaz-Latorre, and Sergio Assad. In the same year, she was awarded a scholarship by the International Guitar Foundation (IGF) of London, further enhancing her musical development.
Aurora’s academic journey includes two master’s degrees in guitar performance from the Ottorino Respighi Conservatoire and the Luigi Boccherini Conservatoire in Italy, where she studied under the guidance of Giampaolo Bandini. Remarkably, she obtained her first master’s degree at the young age of 20. In 2017, she expanded her knowledge through the Erasmus Program at Budapest’s Liszt Academy, studying with Joszef Eotvos. By 2021, Aurora completed a postgraduate specialization at the Arrigo Boito Conservatoire in Parma, refining her skills under Lorenzo Micheli, Ismo Eskelinen, Oscar Ghiglia, Stefano Grondona, and Massimo Felici.
Master Classes and International Recognition
Aurora’s dedication to her craft led her to study at the prestigious Chigiana Academy under Oscar Ghiglia and Eliot Fisk, where she earned the best student’s diploma. She has participated in masterclasses led by notable guitarists, including Leo Brouwer, Francisco Bernier, Margarita Escarpa, Carlo Marchione, Thomas Muller-Pering, Raphaella Smits, and others.
Musical Collaborations and Orchestral Work
Aurora’s collaborations span various musical genres, including classical music, Italian opera, and film music. In 2020, she earned second place for a guitarist position at the prestigious Teatro de Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence. This success led to her performance in Verdi’s Otello under the baton of Zubin Mehta.
In addition to her solo performances, Aurora is also active in chamber music. She currently collaborates with soprano Sofia Celenza in the Estra Duo, specializing in two diverse repertoires: 20th Century Music by composers like Manuel de Falla, Benjamin Britten, and Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Early Music by composers such as Alonso Mudarra and John Dowland.
