
Eugen Treichel
German guitarist Eugen Treichel is part of a new generation of musicians combining technical precision with emotional clarity. His performances, marked by sensitivity and depth, have earned him recognition at major competitions and festivals across Europe.
Early education and studies
Eugen began his musical journey at the age of twelve at the Friedrichshafen Music School, studying with Christian Bootz. Soon after, he became a multiple prizewinner at the national competition “Jugend musiziert.”
As a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes, he studied in the class of Professor Tomasz Zawierucha at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen and later with Graham Anthony Devine at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. Masterclasses with renowned artists such as David Russell, Thomas Müller-Pering and Olaf van Gonnissen further enriched his artistic development.
Awards and recognition
During his studies, Eugen Treichel received numerous prizes at international competitions, including first prize at the NRW Guitar Prize “Stephen Goss” in Essen and the Twents Gitaarfestival in Enschede, Netherlands. In 2015, his hometown Friedrichshafen awarded him the Young Artist Promotion Prize, and in 2019 he was honored with the Ingrid Girardet Prize for Young Talents as part of the Folkwang Prize.
He was also a scholarship recipient of “Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Rhein-Ruhr,” an organization dedicated to bringing live classical music to audiences who cannot attend concerts due to health or social circumstances.
Concerts and collaborations
As a soloist and chamber musician, Eugen Treichel has performed at leading concert venues in Germany, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. His performances have taken him to the Gasteig in Munich, the Graf-Zeppelin-Haus in Friedrichshafen and the Gitarrissimo Festival in Oberhausen.
With a refined sense of sound and an elegant stage presence, Eugen Treichel continues to establish himself as one of the most promising German guitarists of his generation.
