Education
He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad de Chile with Luis Orlandini and in Music Education at the Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación. In 2016, he earned his Master’s degree at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Marco Tamayo. That same year, he began his Postgraduate studies at the Mozarteum University Salzburg with Eliot Fisk. In 2013 and 2016, he received the Fondart Scholarship to support these programs.
Solo Career
As a soloist, he has performed concerts and taught as a guest professor in major concert halls in Chile, as well as in Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Peru, Spain, Italy, Scotland, England, and Austria. In these countries, he has also served as a jury member in prestigious guitar competitions.
Competitions and Awards
He won 1st Prize at the “Josep Ferrer” Competition (Girona, Spain), “Young Soloists of the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad de Chile” (Santiago, Chile), and the “Concurso Cesar Cortinas, Homenaje a Abel Carlevaro” (Atlántida, Uruguay). He also received 3rd Prize at the “Villa de Aranda” Competition (Aranda, Spain).
Musical Collaborations
He was a member of the renowned Chilean music groups “Barroco Andino” and “Ensamble de guitarras de Chile”. He has also recorded for radio and television in Chile and abroad, including the program “Los jóvenes también aman lo clásico,” which highlighted young classical musicians in Chile. He received special recognition from renowned Chilean composers who wrote works specifically for him, which he premiered (including Horacio Salinas, Juan Antonio Sánchez, Juan Mouras, Lorenzo Cornejo, Eduardo Padilla, Mauro Godoy, Maximiliano Soto).
In 2013, he performed as a soloist with the Orquesta de la Facultad de Artes de la Universidad de Chile under the direction of Maestro David del Pino Klinge. He also performed with the Orquesta del Teatro Regional del Maule conducted by Pedro Sierra.
Masterclasses
In addition to his studies, he has attended masterclasses with more than 30 guitarists, including: José Antonio Escobar (Chile), Carlos Pérez (Chile), Juan Carlos Laguna (Mexico), Roman Viazovskiy (Ukraine), Agustín Wiedemann (Germany), Johann Fostier (Belgium), John Grifitts (Australia), Laura Young (Canada), Hopkinson Smith (USA), and Eliot Fisk (USA).
Other Activities
From 2010 to 2013, he was assistant to Professor Luis Orlandini at the Universidad de Chile. He was also a founding member of “Traypin Producciones,” a company for audiovisual production dedicated to promoting outstanding musicians. Since 2012, he has been supported by the Chilean luthier Carlos López Menares.
Teaching
Since December 2017, he has been teaching guitar at Musikum Salzburg, Austria.
