Harald Stampa

Harald Stampa

Harald Stampa studied guitar with Hans Graef and Oscar Ghiglia. He recorded two solo CDs titled “Choix de mes fleurs chéries” (1997) and “Danzas Argentinas” (2003, selected as Naxos CD of the Month in March), as well as a recording featuring chamber music and solo works by Frank Martin (2009). As a soloist, he has appeared with the Basler Sinfonieorchester and the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. In 2006 he performed concerts and taught masterclasses in Santiago de Chile. His artistic curiosity and focus on new sound possibilities have led him to maintain a strong interest in lesser-known composers and transcriptions.

His recent projects include the guitar sextet “Guitarra a Seis” and recordings for a new solo CD featuring works by Giulio Regondi and Robert Schumann. Harald Stampa teaches guitar at the Kantonsschule Baden in Switzerland.

Performing at Siccas Guitars

The classical guitar demands not only technical mastery but a sustained engagement with a repertoire spanning five centuries — from the Renaissance lute music that preceded the instrument, through the great Romantic and nationalist schools, to the contemporary works written for today's leading players. Every guitarist who appears at Siccas Guitars brings their own path through this landscape, shaped by their teachers, their competitions, and the specific musical tradition they have chosen to inhabit.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
