The Swedish guitarist and composer Johannes Möller has captivated audiences around the world with charismatic and expressive performances. In 2010 he was awarded first prize at the GFA Concert Artist Competition, regarded by many as the most prestigious guitar competition internationally.
His artistic reach extends far beyond typical guitar circles. This was demonstrated in March 2008 when he won the Dutch Vriendenkrans Concours, competing against performers from all instrumental categories. As part of this award, his name is engraved on a metal plate displayed in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. In 2009 he received the European Guitar Award for his guitar solo compositions.
Möller earned a Bachelor of Music with Honors from the Royal College of Music in London, where he studied guitar with Gary Ryan and Carlos Bonell, and composition with William Mival. He completed a Master’s degree at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague under Zoran Dukic, and received a scholarship for excellent students that enabled private studies with Pavel Steidl in the Czech Republic and composition lessons with Dusan Bogdanovic in the United States. He later completed a second Master’s degree at the Conservatoire of Amsterdam, studying guitar with Lex Eisenhardt and composition with Richard Ayres.
Performing at Siccas Guitars
Every classical guitarist who performs at Siccas Guitars brings a distinct musical path to the instrument — shaped by years of study, competition experience, and the particular musical tradition they have chosen to inhabit. The classical guitar demands sustained technical commitment and a deep engagement with a repertoire that spans from the Renaissance through to works written for living performers. It is an instrument whose full possibilities only reveal themselves over time.
