Michele Rampino – Guitarist

Italian guitarist Michele Rampino is part of the new generation of musicians shaping the future of classical guitar in Italy. With a refined sound and a precise, expressive style, he continues to earn recognition through competitions and concert performances across the country.

Early education and training

Michele Rampino began his musical studies under Roberto Spano, who introduced him to the classical guitar. In 2011 he was admitted to the Conservatorio “G. Rossini” in Pesaro, where he studied in the class of Maestro Giuseppe Ficara. During his years there, he took part in numerous artistic projects and events highlighting the history of Italian guitar music.

In June 2015 he collaborated with Maestro Ficara’s class in the event “From the Congress of Vienna to the Roman Republic,” held at the Civic Museums of Pesaro, exploring a pivotal period in Italian guitar history. The following summer, he attended the masterclass of South African guitarist James Grace at the J. Rodrigo International Guitar Festival in Porto San Giorgio, also performing in the closing concert.

Competitions and artistic growth

In 2016 he continued his studies with Maestro Duccio Bianchi after successfully passing the admission exams for the advanced degree program. That same year, he performed in Monterubbiano for the concert series “Il Sacro femminile nell’antichità classica,” organized by the association Diversoinverso.

In April 2017 he won second prize at the 18th National Riviera Etrusca Competition in Piombino. The following year he was invited to perform in Pesaro’s Sala Bei during the “Concerti del Sabato” series of the Conservatorio G. Rossini. In March 2018 he achieved third prize at the Giulio Rospigliosi National Guitar Competition, followed shortly by first prize at the 19th Riviera Etrusca Competition.

Current work

The playing of Michele Rampino combines elegance, precision and a clear connection to the Italian guitar tradition. His participation in festivals and competitions reflects both technical discipline and interpretive sensitivity. With his recent successes, he continues to build a promising career as a performer who embodies the expressive richness of Italian classical guitar.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
