Nicola Montella

Nicola Montella, born in 1987, has been studying classical guitar since the age of eight under the guidance of Maestro G. M. Fontanella.

In 2005 he obtained his first-level school diploma. In the academic year 2008/2009 he obtained at the Conservatory “Gesualdo da Venosa” in Potenza – Italy a first-class second-level academic degree in musical disciplines – Biennial program for teacher training (Guitar); at the Conservatory “Domenico Cimarosa” in Avellino – Italy – under the guidance of Maestro Lucio Matarazzo he obtained in 2011 a first-class specialist degree in musical performance and composition disciplines for guitar in the 19th-century concert field.

In addition to his studies, from 2004–2007 he attended the annual courses of Maurizio Colonna in High Guitar Perfecting at the “Roman Academy of Music.”

From 2008, at the Music Foundation “City of Gorizia” – Italy – (from 2009 also at the Conservatory of Avellino) until June 2011, he attended the two-year courses in High Guitar Perfecting of Maestro Aniello Desiderio.

Still under Maestro Aniello Desiderio, he attended from 2011–2013 the two-year course in High Guitar Perfecting at the International Academy of Music in Koblenz (Germany). Afterwards, he attended the repertoire perfection courses of Maestro Paolo Pegoraro and Maestro Adriano del Sal at the Segovia Guitar Academy, as well as the guitar interpretation seminars of Maestro Frédéric Zigante at the Municipal School Arcàngelo Corelli in Castellaneta (Taranto) – Italy.

Furthermore, as a true apprentice, he attended the International Masterclasses of the following maestros: Margarita Escarpa, Shin-Ichi Fukuda, Hubert Käppel, Goran Krivokapic, Carlo Marchione, Lorenzo Micheli, Thomas Offerman, Arturo Tallini, Giulio Tampalini.
