Nicola Montella

Nicola Montella, born in 1987, began studying classical guitar at the age of eight under the guidance of Maestro G. M. Fontanella.

In 2005 he completed his first-level school diploma. During the academic year 2008/2009, he earned a first-class second-level academic degree in musical disciplines at the Conservatory Gesualdo da Venosa in Potenza, Italy, following the biennial program for teacher training (Guitar). Under the direction of Maestro Lucio Matarazzo, he received in 2011 a first-class specialist degree in musical performance and composition disciplines for 19th-century guitar repertoire at the Conservatory Domenico Cimarosa in Avellino.

From 2004 to 2007 he attended the annual High Guitar Perfecting courses of Maurizio Colonna at the Roman Academy of Music.

Beginning in 2008, he studied at the Music Foundation “City of Gorizia” in Italy (and from 2009 also at the Conservatory of Avellino), attending the two-year High Guitar Perfecting program of Maestro Aniello Desiderio until June 2011.

From 2011 to 2013 he continued his training with Maestro Desiderio at the International Academy of Music in Koblenz, Germany. Further studies followed with Maestro Paolo Pegoraro and Maestro Adriano del Sal at the Segovia Guitar Academy, as well as interpretation seminars with Maestro Frédéric Zigante at the Municipal School Arcàngelo Corelli in Castellaneta, Taranto.

As part of his professional development, he also participated in international masterclasses with Margarita Escarpa, Shin-Ichi Fukuda, Hubert Käppel, Goran Krivokapic, Carlo Marchione, Lorenzo Micheli, Thomas Offerman, Arturo Tallini and Giulio Tampalini.

Performing at Siccas Guitars

Every classical guitarist who performs at Siccas Guitars brings a distinct musical path to the instrument — shaped by years of study, competition experience, and the particular musical tradition they have chosen to inhabit. The classical guitar demands sustained technical commitment and a deep engagement with a repertoire that spans from the Renaissance through to works written for living performers. It is an instrument whose full possibilities only reveal themselves over time.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
