Thu Le

Thu Le is an International award winning classical guitarist and certified guitar teacher. Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, she currently lives in Bahrain, Middle East.

Her wide ranging repertoire includes Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern and Latin American styles in addition to playing compositions inspired by local traditions and cultures from around the world.

Her love affair with the guitar began at the age of four thanks to her father, Le Hanh. At the age of five she gave her first public performance in Vietnam under his tutorship.

Thu passed the entrance examination for the National Conservatory of Music, Hanoi at the age of only seven, making her the youngest ever student to be admitted to this prestigious establishment.

To further enhance and develop her talent, Thu took master classes with world renowned guitarists such as Manuel Barrueco, Nikita Koshkin, Hubert Kaeppel and Pavel Steidle.

Her passion for guitar has seen her perform solo across several continents including North America, UK and Europe, the Middle East and Asia. And of course, she stays close to her cultural roots performing regularly in Vietnam, her beloved country of birth.

In 2018 Thu performed and held master classes at the prestigious Guitar Federation of America (GFA) convention held in Louisville, USA. In 2019 she was one of the headline performers at the renowned Roma Expo Guitar event. She has also performed, held master classes and acted as a competition jury member at numerous international guitar festivals including the famous Joaquin Rodrigo Guitar Festival in Spain and the popular International Guitar Festival in Kolkata, India.

Besides her solo career she also collaborates and performs with orchestras, string quartets, vocalists, violinists, flutists and other guitarists.

In 2021 Thu participated in the highly acclaimed “The Walls” project by Sergio Assad. A collaboration between Sergio Assad, Yo-Yo Ma and 60 leading classical guitarists from around the world.

Thu is currently on tour in North America as part of the International Guitar Night series.

She is a Savarez sponsored artist.

Your next step is a real classic

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
