Fernando Mazza is an exceptional guitar maker. First and foremost, it must be stated that he is a guitarist himself. He completed his career as a guitarist at the Alberto Ginastera Conservatory in Buenos Aires, although he found his true passion in guitar construction.

His demands as a professional performer, combined with his experience, training, and mastery of construction techniques, have brought the best of two perspectives – the performer’s requirements and what the craftsman can do to fulfill those demands.

Fernando is a tireless artisan who doesn’t settle for building a good guitar; his obsession is to build the best guitar. He has spent a lot of time studying and analyzing construction styles, traditional methods, and new techniques to arrive at a model that combines the best of both worlds: the traditional system and the most advanced and demanding construction techniques.

Fernando builds his guitars using the Australian system (Smallman type – lattice bracing), but significantly improved. He has managed to unite the best of two worlds: the strength, stability, and harmonic richness of the Australian system and the essence of the sound of the Spanish guitar.

Additionally, he has added two features of great value. A neck with an adjustable two-way truss rod, which, combined with its thin construction, allows for a very low string action and leads to one of the easiest-to-play guitars worldwide. Furthermore, Mazza has introduced the sound port (elliptical soundhole in the top), which provides additional power and projection to the listener and, most importantly, the guitarist.
