Overview
The Italian luthier Daniele Chiesa was born in Bergamo, Italy in 1973. At the age of twelve he started to play classical and jazz guitar. In 1994 he started to study at the violin making school of Cremona where he learned traditional violin-making – he graduated in 1998. After that he went to California to work at the workshop of Kenny Hill where he stayed for one year. Back in Italy he worked with Paolo Viscardi. He then went back to California to work with Tom Ribbecke. In 2002 he came back to Europe,Spain, where he attended a guitar making class with Francisco Santiago Marin. This experience was very intense and he decided to open a workshop in Granada to work and learn from other luthiers like Paco Santiago Marin, Antonio Marin, José Plazuelo and Rolf Eichinger.
This classical spruce top guitar was made in 2006 and has a 640 mm scale. The body is slightly reduced but the sound and projection are the same as on a 650 mm scale guitars. Back and sides are made of Indian rosewood. The guitar polish has recently been refreshed. There are two string dings at the 1st and 3rd string. Overall this guitar looks lovely and is in a very good condition. The sound is smooth and has excellent balance and clarity. The tuners are made by Sloane. A hardshell case is included.
