Danilo Bazzana - 2020

Overview

Danilo Bazzana was born in Milan in 1985. At the age of thirteen, he started to play the guitar, which became one of his future passions. In April 2015 he opened his workshop in the center of Paderno Dugnano, where he alternates the construction of the classical guitar with the work of fine-tuning, restoration and repair on any type of pinched instrument. He builds guitars of a traditional type, inspired by the great masters, paying close attention to the choice of materials of every single component of the instrument.

His guitar is elastic and touch-sensitive, and also tonally rich in nuances. Danilo pays close attention to the creation of the fingerboard, obtaining the right degree of comfort and playability. Bazzana is very fascinated by the intimate aspect of guitar playing, where the guitarist is in direct contact with the string unlike the piano or the violin were a bow or a key interferes somehow. The construction is purely traditional, so he pays close attention to the choice of materials for every single component of the instrument which "must vibrate in its entirety".

As usual with Bazzana's guitars the craftsmanship is excellent, this is a gorgeous looking and sounding instrument. It is built with a dazzling set of Santos rosewood for back and sides, and a beautiful flamed Spanish cedar neck. The playability is absolutely perfect and this instrument has also plenty of sustain, accurate balance between the voices and the ideal volume for a perfect concert guitar. Also, the crystalline sound character gives an added projection to its sound and great definition in the polyphony harmonies. All different kinds of repertoires can be approached and mastered with this splendid instrument.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
