Danilo Bazzana - 2021 Madagascar Special Edition

Overview

Danilo Bazzana was born in Milan in 1985. At the age of thirteen, he started to play the guitar, which became one of his future passions. In April 2015 he opened his workshop in the center of Paderno Dugnano, where he alternates the construction of the classical guitar with the work of fine-tuning, restoration, and repair on any type of pinched instrument. He builds guitars of a traditional type, inspired by the great masters, paying close attention to the choice of materials of every single component of the instrument.

Not only are his guitars very sensitive to the touch but also rich in tonal nuances. Danilo pays great attention to the design of the fingerboard to achieve the right level of comfort and playability. Bazzana is very fascinated by the intimate aspect of playing the guitar, where the guitarist is in direct contact with the string, unlike the piano or violin, where a bow or a key would otherwise interfere. The construction is purely traditional, which is why he puts great care in the choice of materials for each component of the instrument, which "must vibrate in its entirety”.

This guitar is a very special instrument and a true masterpiece. It is the model designed by Danilo Bazzana for the important meeting of Italian guitar makers, Roma Guitar Expo 2020. The inlays are both exquisitely crafted and richly detailed, the gorgeous Madagascar rosewood for the back and sides shows extraordinary purple reflections, and the flamed mahogany neck is just gorgeous. One gets caught up in both the wonderful beauty of the woods used and the immense charm of the sound. The first string sings almost beguilingly with a marvelous sustain. The balance and clarity of the sound are in ideal harmony, giving the guitarist a lot of freedom and possibilities. This very special model is an extremely accomplished instrument and will appeal to many guitarists looking for a master grade guitar.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
