Dario Garcia - 2022 La Leona

Overview

Dario García is the son of Antonio J. García, who learned the craft of guitar making from two of Granada’s most noted and influential luthiers, Paco Santiago Marín and Rolf Eichinger. The influence of the Granada school is noticeable in his work, but of course, he also adds his personal touch to each and every instrument he builds. Dario creates guitars of various designs for both classical and flamenco guitars and is always keen to combine the best possible materials with detailed workmanship.
The guitars coming from his workshop all have a classical design that follows the Spanish tradition of the 20th century.

This brand-new "La Leona" model beautifully represents the characteristic of a legendary Spanish guitar by Antonio de Torres, FE04. It features similarities to those of the original "La Leona" made in 1856. For instance, the spruce soundboard, cypress back and sides, and the "La Leona" bridge style as well as the typical brass cone inside the sound called "Tornavoz". All elements are nicely executed and faithful to the original. This instrument has a flamenco-style headstock with geared Wittner tuning pegs, which look like original wooden pegs, but make tuning this guitar a breeze. This Dario Garcia is a lovely reproduction that carries the tradition of Spanish guitar-making aesthetically and acoustically. The deep basses and lush singing trebles add a lot of character to this instrument. For those who are looking for an authentic Spanish guitar experience at a very attractive price, look no further.

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
