Dieter Müller - 2015 Doubletop

Dieter Müller - 2015 Doubletop

Overview

About the luthier

Dieter Müller is a respected German luthier renowned for his work in double-top guitar construction. Following in the tradition established by Matthias Dammann, Müller is part of the wave of German luthiers who have specialized in this innovative construction method. His instruments are highly regarded for their remarkable volume, clarity, and refined tonal character. In addition to their impressive acoustic performance, they are also known for their excellent craftsmanship and playability.

About the guitar

Built in 2015, this double-top guitar by Dieter Müller still makes a powerful impression. Despite being from an earlier period in his work, it holds its own with outstanding tone separation, warm sustain, and a beautifully developed voice. It may be slightly less sensitive than Müller’s most recent creations, but it delivers a refined sound with great ease and projection. The lightweight construction, with no doubled back or sides, makes it extremely comfortable to play, while the elevated fingerboard further enhances the ease of access to the upper register. The shellac finish is neatly applied and visually appealing, underscoring the high level of craftsmanship that defines Müller’s instruments.

Condition

Now approaching its tenth year, this instrument is in excellent condition. It shows normal signs of playing wear, very minimal considering its age. The shellac on the back is lightly worn, and there is a small dent on the top that has been checked and poses no risk to the structural integrity of the instrument. A wonderful concert guitar that offers a compelling mix of comfort, projection, and tonal beauty.

Dieter Müller 2015 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
