Ennio Giovanetti - 2024 J. Stauffer 64 cm

Overview

About the luthier

Ennio Giovanetti has been crafting exceptional guitars since 1998 in his workshop in Sariano di Gropparello, near Piacenza, Italy. His journey in guitar making began with studies under Enrico Bottelli in Milan, where he had the opportunity to explore and study iconic guitars by Antonio de Torres, Simplicio, and Garcia, among others. Ennio’s instruments are built in the traditional style, yet they are easily distinguishable by their innovative elements. A prime example is the unique design of the bridge, where a section behind the tie block is excavated to optimize the string angle, enhancing vibration and sound projection.

About the guitar

This exquisite 2024 Stauffer replica pays homage to Johann Georg Stauffer's groundbreaking designs. It features a spruce top paired with stunning flamed maple back and sides, which not only elevate its tonal clarity but also provide a striking visual aesthetic. Ennio’s attention to detail and dedication to craftsmanship shine in this reproduction of the Stauffer model, enhanced with subtle modern refinements that reflect his expertise.

One of the standout characteristics of this guitar is its low body resonance tuned to D sharp, a remarkable achievement given its smaller body size. This reflects Ennio’s precision and thoughtful construction techniques, ensuring a powerful and resonant tonal foundation despite the instrument’s compact dimensions. The short 64 cm scale and 45 mm nut width further enhance its playability, making it an incredibly comfortable. Its tonal balance, with sparkling trebles and warm, articulate basses, makes it an excellent choice for a wide range of repertoire. This guitar is in mint condition, with barely visible marks.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
